Joy Palmer
Joy has worked with the IWDO project since its beginnings, starting her own career in IT by working as a technology training instructor with the May 2000 participants of the workshop. She moved on to become the Project Coordinator of IWDO in 2001, and counts this as the most rewarding among her work experiences at MATRIX. Joy came to MATRIX with an academic speciality in Gender and Media Studies, and hopes to complete her Doctorate soon. This is her first trip to Ghana.

Scott Pennington
Scott has been involved in a number of African Internet Connectivity projects since MATRIX began these programs in 1997. In addition to conducting other IWDO training workshops in the U.S. and Senegal, Scott is the Senior Project Director of the African Online Digital Library: http://www.africandl.org/. A collaborative project between MATRIX and a number of African institutions, the AODL aims to adopt emerging best practices in digital libraries and develop them in an African context. Though he is a now-seasoned traveller to West African countries, this is Scott's first trip to Ghana.
