Joy
Palmer
Joy
has worked with the IWDO project since its beginnings, starting
her own career in IT by working as a technology training instructor
with the May 2000 participants of the workshop. She moved
on to become the Project Coordinator of IWDO in 2001, and
counts this as the most rewarding among her work experiences
at MATRIX. Joy came to MATRIX with an academic speciality
in Gender and Media Studies, and hopes to complete her Doctorate
soon. This is her first trip to Ghana.

Scott
Pennington
Scott has been involved in a number of African Internet Connectivity
projects since MATRIX began these programs in 1997. In addition
to conducting other IWDO training workshops in the U.S. and Senegal,
Scott is the Senior Project Director of the African Online Digital
Library: http://www.africandl.org/.
A collaborative project between MATRIX and a number of African institutions,
the AODL aims to adopt emerging best practices in digital libraries
and develop them in an African context. Though he is a now-seasoned
traveller to West African countries, this is Scott's first trip
to Ghana.

Marian
Atta-Boahene
Marian is a former participant of the May 2002 training
program in the U.S. She currently works as the Program Manager
for the Ark Foundation. As the Research and Documentation
Officer for the Ark Foundation, she compiled and edited a
Reader and a Manual for women's leadership and human rights
training workshops. She hopes to contribute to the advancement
of the status of women and children in her country by advocating
for policy and legislative change via the organizations's

Jeffery
Agyekum Adjei
Jeffery was trained in web design by Marian Atta-Boahene,
after her participation in the May 2002 training program in
the U.S. He is the Managing Director for an Internet café
that he set up in 2001, and for which he developed a website:
http://www.geocities.com/linconcafe.
Currently he is a teacher’s assistant at the Lincoln
Community School, where he manages the schools website, http://www.lincoln.edu.gh,
as well. He hopes to pursue a MSc.Information Technology course
next year.
